Good stay We stayed at the hotel for one night to catch the ferry the next day.Checking in was good with the nicest lady we encountered on our tour who give us advice on walks around the hotel. Our room was very clean and comfortable, the hotel is situated in the town centre which there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The breakfast is continental and was welcomed as it was included in the price which is rare in Canada as well as the car parking

Breakfast is included, but not what you might expect We have stayed here several times in the past. It used to be a really nice hotel when it was new (30 or more years ago), but in the 7 years since we last stayed there, it has only gotten older and more tired looking.
We stayed 2 nights. There was absolutely no room service between our two nights. We were in and out several times and didn't see any housekeepers or any evidence that they had entered our room, despite us putting out the "service please" sign for the second half of the day.
Breakfast is included with the room, but it was the leanest continental breakfast I have seen in years -- an individual box of cereal (which could be handy if you are rushing for a ferry), milk, coffee, yogurt, bagels, toast, apples, oranges, and possibly muffins. There were also warm sausage rolls, but because of my allergies, I wasn't able to try one. Your meal ticket could give you $5 off breakfast from the restaurant menu, but any breakfast on the menu was $20-$30, so we didn't go for that option.
The owners and staff of this hotel need to travel so they can see what guests are expecting in the 21st century.
I'm not sure where there is a better option in Powell River, but we will be looking elsewhere on our next trip.

Disrespecting the Disabled We stayed in an Executive One King Bed room for 3 nights in August 2024. We paid a good buck for the room, $204 plus tax per night for a total of $703.80. We were a bit surprised that room amenities for this fee did not include a microwave, which we rented for an additional $10/night. Oh well.
My wife is disabled with mobility issues, so we were relieved to see 2 disabled parking spots close to the front entrance. This worked well for us, we appreciated the short walk into the building. We were reasonably happy with our visit until the last night. When we returned from our evening meal, we noticed that a single compact vehicle had entered the parking lot from the wrong direction and was occupying not just one but both disabled parking stalls. (See our photo.) We reported the vehicle to the front desk and to our surprise they were aware of it and refused to do anything about it. The vehicle apparently belonged to a regular pub patron who was consuming his usual evening meal and drinks. I was told I could park anywhere else in the parking lot, just not in the disabled spots. They were unwilling to ask the regular pub patron to move his improperly parked vehicle so that 2 elderly folks, one of them disabled, could use the designated stall to which their disabled sticker entitled them. Incredible! Probably illegal as well.
So the moral of this review is simple: if you’re disabled, you can pay $204/night for a high-end room and get a healthy dose of disrespect in return. One regular pub patron has far more rights and privilege at this establishment than two disabled parties. We won’t be back, and in our humble opinion, you shouldn’t go.

Great stay but bedding was dirty Great stay. A little bit slow check in process. Initially we have been given a room on the first floor, but we have upgraded the room at the second floor with the garden view. Bedding was initially dirty but it was replaced. Conditioner was noisy. Willingdon beach is a 3 minute drive from the hotel so we had a chance to swim in the ocean once we checked in. Thanks to hot summer time!
The breakfast was included. They had fruit loops that our son loves so it was a huge bonus. Also, they had oranges, apples, yogurts and juices.

Comfortable and Convenient Very happy with our stay. We did not have a car and the hotel is within walking distance of two grocery stores and some fast food restaurants. The rooms were clean and comfortable. My wife and I really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. The hotel shuttle is not available for the last arriving flight at the airport.
