Air-conditioning faulty, difficult to sleep in 29 degrees room It's the middle of summer and after flying 24 hours from Australia and after exploring the city all day, I just want to relax in a cool room booked via Expedia. Unfortunately for me, the air conditioning at LH Lloyd Rome does not work. All the receptionist can tell me is "sorry" which is not a solution when it is 29 degrees inside your room and not what you expect from a 3* hotel in a European capital . At 5pm she says "wait a bit longer" but temp never goes down. The manager has been made aware but is not onsite, cannot offer any solutions such as reimbursement. I've been to 40 countries, this is one of the worst accommodation experiences. At midnight, temp dropped to 28.3, but then when I turn on the TV and move around, order down food, it is now back to 28.6..... so am I supposed to wait just a bit longer, until I checkout at 11am perhaps? This seems like a 1 star hotel, not a 3 star! It is cooler down in the lobby, perhaps I should take a pillow and sleep down there?

Unsafe practices and lying staff We were two couples staying in this hotel in adjacent rooms. The rooms were not lockable from the inside. One night we were woken by our door being opened, i challenged two men who entered our room, one member of staff and one guest. The member of staff apologised and said he had opened the wrong room, he then went on to do the exact same thing to our friends room. The day receptionist told us the night manager had been told many times not to do this and he should have verified the guests room number first, she said and I quote "He is old and losing mental capacity" She said the guest was drunk and had forgotten his room number ad that the locks had been changed in the room and they were currently waiting for new parts to make them work properly and lock from the inside, she apologised and advised us to claim a refund on our rooms by going through the agent we booked with. She gave us her contact details to follow up with when we got home. I made this request and received a response from the hotel manager saying we were lying and that is not what happened, the member of staff who advised us to claim a refund has ignored all my attempts to contact her.

Filthy Hotel Not even on the plane home and writing this. Definitely not a 3 star place. Pushing a 1 to be honest. Came for the weekend for my hubby's 50th birthday. Not even a complimentary drink on arrival. Kept in touch with reception before hand, to let them know it was a special weekend, hibby was 50 on day of arrival. Reception clean but old and tired, furniture in need of updating. Staff ok, requested a really nice room, was told it would be. What we got was a filthy, disability room. Hand rails, extra large cracked filthy toilet, the lot. Bathroom filthy, especially the shower area, massive crack in the floor tiles. Bedroom had stains everywhere including the bed spread. Sofa bed didn't look usable, also covered in stains. Furniture old, worn and tired. It did get cleaned on our sta, but I'd say a quick once over with the hoover. Breakfast is continental, and was OK to be fair. Lady who does the breakfast in the morning is this hotels only saving grace. Very friendly and helpful. Pay her more!!! Will never come back!!!
