Shabby, in desperate need of renovation First impressions: Shabby. The restaurant has a big FOR LEASE sign on it which isn't welcoming or reassuring at all. Do not advertise you have a restaurant if it isn't functioning. The building looks run down and old even compared to the many hotels and motels surrounding it. The reception area is large but dark and depressing looking. We got a room which felt 8 miles from the front door, actually back by the outdoor pool. Upon entering the room I noted the extremely worn carpet. (see photos) The furniture is all dinged and there are pictures missing from the walls. You can see the "ghost" of the frames in the wallpaper. Weird. The mattress is a spring one that bounces like crazy. You shift a little and you practically hit the ceiling it's so bouncy. Feels very 80s. Today's mattresses have pillow tops and many are memory foam and such. This one was not special in any way and not particularly comfortable. Flat screen TV, microwave, mini fridge. Desl with office chair and ice bucket, cups, mini one cup coffee maker (I wouldn't dare use it.) Large closet. The bathroom was weird. The tub looks extremely tiny, like it was made for a child. There is a knob on the wall next to the light switch and I have no idea what it's for. A part of the vanity was broken and pasted back together with masking tape. (see photos) Wallpaper is bubbling in many places and looks really dingy and dirty. The bedding is blah, lackluster and what you would get from just a bare minimum place. One thin blanket and a top sheet, whee. 4 incredible wee tiny pillows (square) for a king bed which leave the headboard strangely exposed on the sides. Soe kind of emblem on the headboard and a corresponding one on the wall mirror appear to have been removed and what's left behind can only be described as glue residue/gunk and it's very unattractive and shoddy looking. I'm actually not sure I want to even take a shower here, and I've been to many hotels and Quality Inns and have not felt that way about 99% of them. Usually the bathrooms are really nice. Well not so much here, folks. This place is old, sad, and shabby. If you just want to get by and have a sleep on your way somewhere else, it might do. The sign also says Quality Inn but my GPS told me it was Courtyard Inn so I can't tell which one is the newer name. In any case, that doesn't inspire confidence. I'm adding a bunch of photos because photos really tell the story best. Also there is a patio (someone left a cigarette butt out on it and a lighter, so it doesn't make me feel like housekeeping is really paying attention to the details.) The lock on the patio door does NOT engage. There is a safety bar but it does not fully engage, either. Pretty ridiculous, honestly. I don't think this particular location deserves the Quality Inn name and they would be best off selling it and getting rid of it since they have already seemed to have abandoned it. I don't know what Quality Inn was even thinking allowing it to fall into this kind of disrepair. The person in charge should be seriously evaluated. The person in charge doesn't want to put any money into the place and one has to ask why.

This place needs a major makeover! The staff were friendly but the place was bad. The room we stayed in was two queens, the mattresses were old as I saw a blood stain on the side towards the foot of the bed. The popcorn ceiling was out of date plus it look like dirt or black mold on one side & corner. It had a balcony but the handrail was loose. Found two roaches, one in the microwave & one in the bathroom sink, we were able to kill one. Asked for pillows but only had one to give for the whole complex. Asked for towels the next morning but they ran out of them & asked for our dirty ones to wash. Some of the "so called" clean ones had stains on them. Breakfast was fair & check in & check out clerks were nice. But will never stay here again unless it gets a major makeover.

Stayed here twice in May 2017 Nice motel for the price. This place is dated and could use a remodeling. Both of my visits were on a week night and the staff was exceptionally friendly. The lobby and my room were clean and have no complaints. Please note that I am a smoker and this place is smoker friendly so I cannot attest to the non smoking environment of this hotel. I don't know if it can be smelled in the common areas or not. I will be staying here on future visits and would recommend to any of my friends. The morning buffet is included in the cost of the room and is acceptable.

Happy Guest Annette the manager is a wonderful person. She handled us like we were part of her family. This is a beautiful hotel and we will stay there again very soon. The breakfast is hot and fresh and the rooms are spotless. If you are ever in this area I highly suggest you stop by and give this hotel a try.

OK stay for the price. This hotel, which is inexpensive, is located in a Tyler, TX, a community that has seen better days (but is area and hotel are definitely safe). It is 10 minutes south of I-20, and half the price of the hotels by the interstate. The hotel and our room were clean, and it was very comfortable. Our room was nice size, had a desk, fridge and safe. The breafast was good for one that is free. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only drawback was that the AC unit produced a slight musty odor when it was on. It didn't really bother us and we didn't report it until morning checkout. The desk clerk immediately told the maintenance person about the problem.
