What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
At Blue Moon Stables we give a very personalized experience that can be hard to find. Riders learn how to ride as well as how to groom and take care of the horses, and will always work in a one-on-one basis with the instructor.
What's one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans?
Anyone who comes with a passion to be around horses will quickly feel like veterans!
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
Blue Moon Stables was founded on the inspiration to share a passion for horses with people of all ages who want to experience the joy that is working with horses.
What do you love most about your job?
I love being able to provide a rare opportunity for riders to learn about and work with horses, and the happiness and satisfaction of riders when they accomplish something or are simply thrilled to be around an animal as fascinating and beautiful as the horse is.
Everything that happens at Kidzu Children's Museum is powered by STEAM. The acronym stands for "science, technology, engineering, art, and math," a collection of foundational subjects through which kids and parents alike can expand their minds. They might not even know they're learning, though, since Kidzu approaches learning through interactive play.
Size: 8,500 square feet of play-centered learning, with plans to move to a bigger and more permanent home in the future
Eye Catcher: Spin Zone, where kids launch balls using a giant Archimedes screw and then race them through custom-designed tracks
Don't Miss: Forest Theater, a miniature performance space where kids use everything from puppetry to light experiments to stage pint-sized dramas
Other Hands-On Experiments: kids climb a wall and practice organic farming
Special Programs: family music jam sessions, weekly story time, birthday parties, and other regular events give adults a chance to get in on the fun
A Franklin Street icon, the recently renovated Varsity Theatre has entertained audiences and cineastes for more than 50 years with screenings of current blockbusters, cult flicks, indie films, and classics. A vintage marquee beckons audiences to file into comfy seats as 35mm and digital projectors project movies onto screens. Along with regularly scheduled showings, The Varsity also holds special events such as film forums, dinner-and-movie specials, or interviews with John Wayne's neckerchief. Groups can rent out the theaters for birthday parties, corporate functions, or special events, with multiple media services and catering options available.
