We are proud to be the only West Florida course designed by this legendary architect. At Apollo Beach Golf Club, Mr. Trent Jones's artistic talents and design philosophy make the course a true pleasure to play for golfers of all abilities. He believed that a great course should offer a source of pleasure to the greatest number of players possible while at the same time testing their strategy, mind and skill. In all these criteria Apollo Beach delivers and brings the additional bonus of the natural beauty and wild life of Southern Florida to life on a course you will enjoy playing forever.
Sandpiper Golf Club is a Silver-level Member Club with daily fee play and part of the ClubLink family of Clubs.
You will find the Oaks, the Palms and the Lakes nines at Sandpiper Golf Club. This 27-hole facility originally opened in 1968 with 18 holes designed by Mark Mahanna. Ron Garl, who designed all 27 holes at neighboring Falcon Watch, added the third nine, the Lakes, in 1985. All three nines are par 36 and play from four sets of tees ranging from 2,717 to 3,258 yards. The golf course is fun yet challenging for all skill levels. Amenities include a practice range and putting green and a fully stocked golf shop. Enjoy a snack or cold beverage at the turn or before or after your round at the Sandpiper Grille. The Palms, the original nine at Sandpiper, is noted for having small, mostly elevated greens. The Lakes features a winding and hilly routing that plays into a valley and out. It’s certainly the most challenging off the tee, requiring golfers to shape their shots and hit fairways. It also has the most spacious greens, but that’s not always a good thing. Many people consider the Oaks the friendliest of the three courses at Sandpiper with accessible green sites that generally have narrow openings at the front of every green for bump-and-run shots. If you’re looking for the toughest hole, No. 3 on the Lakes jumps to the front of the line as a 389-yard par-4. There’s water off the tee and a very narrow landing area, followed by an uphill, blind second shot into the green. No. 2 on the Palms is a terrific par-3. It’s solid at 187 yards and features an elevated green, with water on the right side and bunkers on both sides. If you’re looking for length on a par-3, then No. 8 on the Oaks tops out at 212 yards. The best hole for birdie is probably No. 9 on the Oaks, a 488-yard par-5 with a welcoming landing area and a green that is accessible for those going for it in two.
The Hillsborough River insulates Rogers Park from the hustle and bustle of Tampa. Only 20 minutes from downtown, there are no city streets or homes running through this golf course, which was originally built in 1952 and renovated in the summer of 2000.Rogers Park is the home of the Tampa City Amateur Medal Championship, features a driving range and a three-hole short course. The park took the name of its contributor, G.D. Rogers. After church on Sundays many families came to enjoy the swings, slides, baseball diamond, and picnic area. Mayor Curtis Hixon gave permission to a group of caddies from Palma Ceia (seea) CC to build a nine hole golf course. The first Head Golf Professional, Willie Black directed his group of volunteers. All of the tree removal and shaping was done by hand. Upon its completion in 1952 the Rogers Park Golf Club was born. In 1976 the City of Tampa gave management rights to the newly formed Tampa Sports Authority. A $400,000 renovation project began with Ron Garl as the designer. An irrigation system was installed as well as expanding to another city owned property across the street. In 2000 the Tampa Sports Authority renovated again. This time a 4 million dollar renovation was needed. The irrigation system was replaced; the greens were rebuilt to modified USGA specifications. A lot of other landscaping and reshaping of holes was added to enhance the character of Rogers Park GC. In 2001 a new maintenance compound was completed, and in 2002 a new clubhouse was built.

In fact, the many lakes on the course have become a wildlife habitat as well as a bird sanctuary. A great course for a pleasurable round of golf. The History of Rocky Point Golf CourseAs told by Bob Arnot, staff member of 40 years:In 1911 the Tampa Automobile Club opened for business, making it one of the first golf courses in Florida. In 1942 the club was closed down because of World War II.The Federal Government turned the club into a part of Drew Field. Barracks were built to hold prisoners of war. In 1953 the Government turned the property over to the City of Tampa for $1.Consequently, the City of Tampa leased the course to J.S. “Curly” Hartman for 25 years. Curly and his wife, Merle were from Mason City, Iowa. Rocky Point Golf Course reopened in June of 1954. Merle took over operations when Curly passed in 1957. In December of 1963 a third nine was added. In 1978, after the lease expired the City of Tampa turned over operations to the Tampa Sports Authority. In December of 1981, Mayor Bob Martinez leased 40+ acres of Rocky Point Golf Course to Critikon Corporation for 99 years in return for a 1.2 million dollar redesign. This included the return from 27 holes to 18 holes. The course reopened on March 5, 1983. The new clubhouse was built and opened in July, 1993.

The Eagles Golf Club boasts a long, proud tradition as the standard of excellence for public access golf in the Tampa market and we are honored to preserve that legacy. The Eagles two championship golf courses, The Lakes and The Forest, offer our players distinctly different experiences at our location in the prestigious gated Eagles community. At 6719 yards from the championship tees, the Forest Course demands precise shot-making and course management. The drivable par four third is a classic risk/reward opportunity; eagle or “other” is a possible score on this challenging hole. The peninsula green on the par three sixth offers all the characteristic drama of a forced carry over water. The back nine is nestled in a setting more reminiscent of a nature preserve than a golf course; you’ll find it hard to believe that the Tampa airport is a mere 20 minutes away. Your time spent on these fairways surrounded by the tranquility of the natural surroundings will have you coming back again and again. The Lakes Course stretches to over 7000 yards “from the tips” and provides a completely different look and feel than the Forest Course. It takes accurate ball striking and length to successfully navigate this interesting layout. Number one is a twisting, turning par five around a majestic oak in the right center of the fairway; but a birdie is a great way to start your round. A recent tree removal project has opened the canopy on the second hole; we think you’ll like the new look. To preserve the natural ambiance of the Eagles, twenty trees were strategically added to replace those that were removed. No matter which golf experience you choose, stop at the restaurant in the Eagles clubhouse before or after your round. Enjoy the best burger you’ll ever have or select from one of our weekly specials; either way, your satisfaction is guaranteed.
