Besides having 15 years of aesthetics experience, I was an educator for a spa for 10 years.
There's a lot more to haircare than cutting and conditioning—at least as far as the stylists at PK Salon are concerned. In addition to cuts, color, and nurturing hot oil treatments, the deft hands of these hair experts can press and curl locks, sew in sew-ins, and add braids with and without weaves. But they don't stop with the top of the head, performing facials for men and women, waxing brows, limbs, and other areas, and even giving massages to ease the tension built up by a long, stressful day of being pampered.
Science meets art at North Fulton Plastic Surgery. As a board-certified plastic surgeon and otolaryngologist who has operated a private practice since 1998, Dr. Brian Howard commits to helping his patients achieve their aesthetic goals by recommending and performing an array of surgical as well as noninvasive procedures. Although their surgeries can affect dramatic cosmetic changes, Dr. Howard's technicians and aestheticians also enlist an assortment of cutting-edge technologies to yield equally impressive results from their noninvasive treatments. In addition to the Fraxel technology and the Q-switched Nd:YAG and ruby laser systems, the center also features devices that harness ultrasounds or radio frequency waves to promote spot fat reduction. Together, their medical and medspa treatments can boost patients' confidence by helping them look svelte and more youthful than the picture on their Big Wheel-driver's license.
Art Hair Salon & Spa inspires beauty from head to toe—stylists and aestheticians alike combine technique with artistic sensibility to design flattering looks that withstand daily life. Clients can peer into mirrored walls to witness transformations occur as hairstylists revamp coifs with cut, color, and texturizing treatments. Nearby, skincare experts obscure blemishes and signs of aging with European facials and acne care, while massage therapist melt tension and inspire calm with hot-stone bodywork treatments. Nail techs maintain sterile work-stations—that means hospital-grade autoclaves, basin soaks with pipeless jet-spas, and all-metal instruments. But they're just as dedicated to the art of nail care with deluxe mani-pedi packages, 3D nail art, and kids mani-pedis for young ’uns who want to make a good first impression with the guidance counselor.
Some people wear their jewels on their ring fingers; others wear them on their fingernails. The artists at Art Nails & Eyelash Spa can do classic mani-pedis, but they're especially adept at creating tiny, glittery works of art that incorporate 3-D gems and metallic swirls. Other aestheticians apply nearly weightless eyelash extensions one by one, and massage therapists use hot stones or simply their own talented hands to induce relaxation.
