The home is filled with audio recreations of historic meetings and a replica of the president's desk. In The Robert H. Smith Visitor's Center, guests can peruse interactive exhibits detailing the president's quest for emancipation and the state of the capital during the Civil War. An original signed copy of the Emancipation Proclamation is at the cottage until the end of April. Through August President Lincoln's Cottage will also be featuring Can You Walk Away, an exhibit on modern slavery and human trafficking that features the documentary Not My Life and encourages guests to get involved with present-day abolitionist movements.
