Professional photographer Paul D. Manke instructs novice to advanced shot-snappers in the finer points of memory capture during two-hour evening photography classes. Both the Intro to Compact Camera and Intro to SLR sessions take place in the classroom and familiarize students with camera basics, including navigating the menu, downloading images, and using the camera to capture irrefutable proof that zorses exist. Level-two compact-camera and SLR courses delve into hands-on photography and snapping pictures using the manual setting. A special night class teaches students to take photos in the dark, and advanced camera clutchers in the SLR #3 class hone sophisticated skills such as quick exposure reading and setting.

Owners Brad Thalmann and Angela Harle snap stunning portraits for high-school seniors customized to reflect the personality and interests of each subject. Clients can choose to hold their senior portrait session at the studio's indoor or outdoor space, and can prepare to pose for roughly 90 minutes in up to three different outfits or forty different hair flips ($20–$60). A few weeks after the personalized picture sitting, the photographers display the expertly edited portraits for clients on a large screen while telling personal anecdotes about each image. After customers pick their prints, the studio will immortalize the images on professional Kodak paper with a variety of packages, including die-cut wallet portraits ($30–$120), gift portraits ranging from 4"x5" to 8"x10" ($25–$80), large wall portraits ($150–$1000), or a leather-bound portrait portfolio presenting eight different 4"x5" pictures ($150).

Founded 37 years ago, Countryside Photographers harnesses the technical and creative expertise of two photographers holding photography degrees from the Professional Photographers of America. Countryside specializes in high-school-senior and family photography, but any photo-ready creature is welcome in front of its cameras. Pose-a-thons can take place inside Countryside's studio or in its outdoor photo garden. To personalize snapping sessions, models may consult the photographer for possible props to use and the most flattering shade of gorilla suit. Once the tripod is set and the mouths are grinning, pouting, or sneering, the session usually consists of 16–20 poses and lasts about 30–45 minutes.

A member of sundry shutterbug alliances, including Professional Photographers of America, Jackie Boyd is passionate about capturing each subject's unique essence. Prior to the portrait session, schedule an in-person, telephonic, or telepathic consultation with Jackie, in which you can discuss optimal makeup and outfits. When it comes time for your 30-minute session, you'll be confidently equipped to flaunt gums and immortalize death glares for Jackie’s rapid shutter-fire in her cozy studio or in a squirrel's cozy studio apartment at an outdoor park (additional $35 fee for on-location sessions).

Little Chute,

Member of the American Society of Photographers, Tracy Van Zeeland draws upon 16 years' worth of camera-wielding wisdom to capture classic snapshots in a fun and casual atmosphere. The photog passes the one-hour session patiently clicking away as children relax and play, producing prints that ensnare the saplings' innate sweetness while sidestepping temper tantrums prompted by puppets speaking ill of that big shot Big Bird. Customers can choose one outfit and one backdrop, so suit up a squirt in their Sunday best and settle them on a white wicker chair, or maroon babes dressed as cubs on a desert island in their sea faring finery. Directly after the film frenzy, pintsize patrons and their parents peruse a deluge of digital prints on a big-screen TV to select the snapshot for their color 8"x10" print, ready in two weeks. Multitudinous clans can have up to three snapshot subjects, with an additional $5 per each child. Tracy also conquers newborn and family portraits, senior pictures, and more.
