The 12 full-size and three mini courts at Huber Tennis Ranch provide an immersive environment in which tennis players can practice strokes, perfect footwork, and improve fitness through classes and open-play times. Head instructor Tony Huber leads a teaching staff certified by the Professional Tennis Registry who instruct both adults and juniors on all aspects of the game, from serves and volleys to congratulating a vanquished ball machine on a valiant effort.
Adults participate in several class styles including programs for beginners or cardio tennis, which combines cardiovascular exercise with high-intensity repetition of on-court mechanics. Juniors can rise through a number of ranks based on age and ability, ranging from introductory classes for beginners to classes that train youngsters for high-level competition. While practicing their strokes, players draw inspiration from Tony's wife, Liezel, among the top-ranked professional women's doubles players in the world and Grand Slam champion of the Australian, French, and U.S. Opens as well as Wimbledon. Huber Tennis Ranch keeps a busy schedule of classes and drills; check the calendar for upcoming times.
Beyond Paradise Nursery spreads scores of succulents, shrubs, flowers, palm trees, and other seasonal plants across its spacious 3-acre facility. Homeowners can fill empty spaces with long-lasting blooms such as 3-gallon Double Knock Out roses ($20), or let the colorful petals of a 3-gallon loropetalum ($16) cheer up a lonely lawn ornament. Encore azaleas ($25 for a 3-gal.) turn their vibrant faces toward driveways and porches; the blossoms of Little John bottlebrushes ($20 for a 3-gal.) blow in the breeze like miniature pom-poms. During the holiday season, a variety of poinsettias will also be available.
Chase Carpets overhauls foot space with toe-cuddling carpeting and carpet stretching for already-there rugs. Massage tired tootsies with a bevy of cushy carpeting, such as Shaw's Northern Parkway or Wish List floor furs, available in a variety of colors ($300 for 144 sq. ft. or $500 for 250 sq. ft., including pad, installation, and tax). These foot-tickling fibers arrive complete with a one-year warranty on their multistep installation process. Or give tired treads a facelift with whole-house carpet stretching (a $3/yd. value, up to 100 sq. yd. with this deal). Ideal for wrinkled, worn, or constantly frowning wall-to-walls, carpet stretching eradicates ripples from rooms by unfastening, trimming, and retacking a home's existing floor-coats.
Noticing that water restrictions were increasingly frequent, gardener Eric Pedley decided to turn his hobby of cultivating succulents into a business. With business partner and fellow local Julie Patton, he filled a rented greenhouse with desert-dwelling plants capable of storing large reserves of water in their leaves and surviving in arid climates. The diverse inventory ranges from prickly cacti to lush aloe and agave, all of which make for nontraditional additions to home gardens. While customers shop, staffers dish out tips on soil mixes, drainage systems, and guttural incantations to prolong the life of potted or outdoor arrangements. The knowledgeable staff—featured on Central Texas Gardener—also creates and delivers festive potted arrangements.
Brents Tree Service’s experienced crews of insured arborists tend to Austin-area arboreal life with pruning, branch clearing, and other tree-care services. A free in-person consultation precedes each job, the cost of which can vary based on the difficulty of the job, the size of the tree, and the number of rings the tree wears. Four-person teams tote chippers, chipper trucks, and other essential equipment to clear branches after storms, prune unhealthy limbs from trees, and remove troubled trees altogether. Tree owners can fortify their leafy charges with eco-friendly organic fertilizer that feeds roots directly, or take advantage of cabling and bracing services that support branch and trunk structure. After each job, crews clean up debris and haul it away to prevent ghost branches from hurling themselves back and forth across yards in an effort to torture the dog.
We are a full service landscape and horticultural company that specializes in organic products in order to promote water retention and sustainable eco- systems. We like to treat problems from the ground up at Ironwood Land because your landscape is a representation of the quality of your soil.
