Your service is good. Unfortunately, after 5 times trying, I will probably not eat there again. The food is ok, but could be so much better with a little flair or maybe a better eye/time. The fried green tomatoes are greasy, the breading (cornmeal?) is flat. First time ever that I didnt like that dish!! When you first opened I had a great burger, but cutting costs (I am assuming) made it smaller and on a cheap bun. Finally, the night I came in the "owners daughter" as she called herself, and her group of friends came in and made a completely scene of themselves with lots of foul language, inappropriate comments, etc. that ruined the only thing left at Ailsa's, the atmosphere. Good Luck

Because of the prices, the food needs to be excellent. There are quite a few places in Richmond Hill where I can go to get good food for half or even one third of the cost of a meal at Ailsa's. The food at Ailsa's was pretty good. It just didn't blow me away. At $20 or more per plate, it needs to blow me away.

You need to start each meal out with bread, make sure customers receive their salad before their meal and not with the meal. Increase the amount and size (steaks were too thin). if you have been out of one of the few entree's offered for several days, make a special order or make a trip to the local grocer.

Menu could be a little larger. Was hard to have a conversation as live music was very loud.

Great higher-end atmosphere which we weren't expecting based on the location. It's nice to have some place different in the Richmond Hill area that provides a nice sit-down meal and atmosphere without having to drive to Savannah. I would caution that some items were substituted from what was listed on the menu without our knowledge, but didn't detract too much from the food. We'll be back some time in the future I'm sure.

From Our Editors

At lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunches, the culinary team at Ailsa's Restaurant & Bar presents an upscale spin on classic American cuisine. They top fried-green tomatoes with deep-fried gouda, slather an Angus beef burgers in red-pepper mayo, and baste lamb chops in a peach-bourbon glaze, using numerous ingredients sourced from local farmers. Like its food, Alisa's interior draws from elements of both fine and casual dining, with elegant light fixtures dangling from exposed wooden beams and paintings adorning the wood-paneled bar.

When night falls, Alisa's models a bistro pub atmosphere. Live entertainment enthralls guests on Friday and Saturday nights, and competitors gather every Thursday night from 10 p.m. to midnight for trivia, or as some know it, a way to study for the LSATs while drinking.
