Kmart is as much a part of the American vernacular as it is a part of millions of homes. The store's famous "blue light special"—a surprise sale announced over the store's intercom with much fanfare, plus a borrowed blue police light—earned its spot in the pop culture consciousness after being referenced in Beetlejuice, Rain Man, and other popular movies.
Today, Kmart doesn't need flashing lights to show off its collection of housewares, clothing, jewelry, and toys from brands such as Route 66 and Joe Boxer. Instead, customers can peruse the store's wares online or in-store, where colorful signage highlights deals in shades of blue and beyond.
