Though it may seem counterintuitive to pile on exercises to heal people recovering from injury, that’s exactly what SportsPlus founder and president Ed Le Cara aims to do. He’s a PhD candidate in athletic training, former frontline medic for the army, current medical and science consultant with 24 Hour Fitness, and is certified by the American Chiropractic Rehabilitation Board and the National Academy of Sports Medicine, among others. Armed with a staggering slew of futuristic equipment—such as the functional movement screen—Dr. Le Cara builds practical exercise routines that help people speed through rehab or prevent injuries altogether.

Le Cara works with a staff of injury prevention and rehabilitation experts whose qualifications include chiropractic and athletic training. Their services range from the expected—gait analysis and massage therapy to get postures in line and ease pain—to the esoteric, such as an antigravity treadmill and underwater chiropractics that give exercise routines to people who otherwise wouldn't be able to work out.
