This was the worst dining experience. My family goes to melting pot all of the time. When we purchased this groupon it wasn't clear that it was for Poughkeepsie location, of which we do not live anywhere near. It was dirty inside, the bathroom was unusable, the staff was slow and the entire dinner was uncomfortable.

Going there for 3 years on Groupon, love the cooking style, it's always a special night out when we go there. And, I love the staff at the Poughkeepsie location.

I have never been there the experience was good our staff was great. The only issue i had was my party and i were there for 2 1/2 hours. It was way to long. I felt in between courses they for got about us. It should have never taken so long.

Definitely a fun experience, but it took over 3 hours for the 3 course meal of cheese fondue, dinner, and chocolate fondue. Hard to keep kids entertained waiting that long, but they loved it!

The flavors are great--good variety of choices for the actual fondue pots. Only downsides: takes a long time ( don't expect a quick meal on your way out); pricey ( for what it really is, pretty expensive); some tables only have one central heater which means everyone must agree on the type of fondue, instead of being able to have different base flavors. I do really like this place, though--so I just plan accordingly and don't go all that often.

The service was spectacular. Joe, our waiter, was very kind and knowledgeable. I would definitely go back again.

Don't care for so much meat. Just not our cup of tea. The service was great.

From Our Editors

When The Melting Pot originally opened in 1975 just outside Orlando, the location was cozy and quaint, but diners had only three options: swiss-cheese fondue, beef fondue, or chocolate fondue. However, as the restaurant grew in popularity, so did its menu selection and atmosphere. The restaurant first expanded four years later under the leadership of a Melting Pot waiter and enterprising college student named Mark Johnston, who teamed up with his brothers Mike and Bob to open a new outpost in Tallahassee. This location grew in reputation to pave the way for future franchise expansion. Today, the company—now owned by the trio of siblings—reigns as the premier fondue, wine, and drink restaurant, stretching across North America with more than 140 restaurants linked by underground tunnels. The restaurant's menu has also ballooned, and patrons can now expect six varieties of hot dipping cheese paired with salads, meats, and molten chocolate.

On a given night, groups of foodies gather around tables to nosh on signature four-course meals, from cheese-fondue appetizers and various salads to steaks and seafood cooked in a choice of healthy broth or oil. Birthday revelers, holiday-partygoers and couples can share decadent evenings at private tables, capping off meals with chocolate desserts that have defined The Melting Pot for decades.
