Al and Catherine Ponte have a goal for Scandals Salon and Day Spa that defies its name: creating a drama-free atmosphere where patrons feel welcome. Just about the only thing scandalous is how unfair it is that the salon gets such a heavily saturated team of hair designers, barbers, aestheticians, and massage therapists. (Scandals gets to keep nearly 50 stylists alone). But it's not all a numbers game. The highly-trained folks arm themselves with products from TIGI, Redken, Matrix, Paul Mitchell, and other impressive lines, transforming manes, adding vibrant hues to nails, and easing tension from tense muscles.
