A Chat with AA Bar Productions
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Many people know how to film, many know how to edit, but not many of them are also classically trained actors that have a keen eye for what the person viewing an audition tape wants to see. I know how to coach an actor to get their best performance, and I know how to put together a video that pops.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I have been a filmmaker and actor for many years and I have been doing this for my close actor friends for quite a while. They have been urging me to open my services to New York actors at large and I have finally done it. I want all my clients to catch the eye of the casting people.
What do you love most about your job?
I love when a fellow actor views their audition reel and says, “Wow, that was great!” When they feel great about what they are submitting, I feel great. Acting is a tough business. The more of an edge you can have, the more you will book. My work gives my clients a clear edge.
What is the best reaction you’ve ever gotten from a customer?
I had a customer come back to me and tell me that they had a theater contact them and thank them for really going the extra mile to submit a very high-quality, well-presented video audition. Nobody ever calls for something like that in this business. They see hundreds of these [tapes] and his made an impression!
