About Albany Pump Station
When opening his brewery in 1999, Neil Evans looked to the past. He revived the C.H. Evans Brewing Co., a family-run business that operated in New York for more than 130 years. Evans housed it in a 19th-century building that he transformed from a vacant pump house into a brewpub that maintains an industrial feel with exposed brick and ductwork. In this historical space praised by the Preservation League of New York State, visitors can choose from more than a dozen beers ranging from American-style pale ale to oatmeal stout.
