DC International Beerfest
American beers are pitted against international ones on Saturday, September 20 at the DC International Beerfest. Held at Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium, the festival is divided into two sessions. During each session, festival-goers sample more than 120 beers from well-known international breweries including Leffe and Pilsner Urquell, which first crafted pilsners, as the Groupon Guide learned. The festival’s closer-to-home craft-beer heavyweights include Brooklyn Brewery and Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., whose communication manager spoke with the Groupon Guide about its flagship beer, which is nearly old enough to run for president. The festival is also excited to provide hard-to-find and seasonal brews, as well as various ciders and more than 30 wines. Filling out the event are tasty fried foods, freewheeling concert performances, and games such as oversized Jenga.
