$39 for Eight-Hour Handgun-Carry-Permit Course ($80 Value)
Courses begin with four hours of in-classroom instruction, during which a NRA-certified instructor covers the skills needed to obtain a State of Tennessee handgun-carry permit. Groups, which are limited to 20 participants, then head to the range, where they don safety gear and practice shooting for four hours. When combined, these two sessions meet the requirements for a State of Tennessee handgun-carry permit. Participants must wear closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and they should bring a reliable handgun with 50 rounds of ammunition (all guns must pass a safety inspection).
The eight-hour course includes a break for lunch. Participants may pre-order a meal of two hot dogs, chips, and bottled water for $5. The instructor also keeps the range open for an additional hour after the course, so students can continue to practice if they have additional ammo.
