Evil Dead: The Musical
The scene: a remote cabin in the deep, deep woods. The residents: five college students, out for a weekend of drinking and debauchery. The problem: demons. Lots and lots of wise-cracking demons, along with a not insignificant number of zombies. When these hapless co-eds unleash the fury of the underworld, it’s up to S-Mart employee and chainsaw aficionado Ash to set things right.
That’s the scenario in which audience members at Evil Dead: The Musical find themselves. The official live stage show of the classic horror film series makes a seamless transition to the stage at the remodeled old-style Tommy Wind Theatre, where not even a seat guarantees safety; billed as the ultimate 4D experience, the staging ensnares audience members in the mayhem with plenty of interactive blood and gore. This includes the infamous Splatter Zone, where audience members may end up staining their tuxedoes splattered with the same blood and guts afflicting the characters on stage. Endorsed by Bruce Campbell, the show has been compared to “Rocky Horror Show” by The New York Times, and is referred to as “the one musical you’ll actually want to see” by Maxim.
