Ferry Plaza Seafood
If you'd visited Ferry Plaza Seafood in its early years, you would have encountered a very different menu. That's because when the restaurant first opened in the Ferry Building in 2003, it was little more than a classic chowder-and-sandwich shop. Over the years, however, it grew—both physically and creatively—to the point where it had to pack up and move to the North Beach area in 2014.
Though the name remains the same, the current version of Ferry Plaza Seafood features an array of creative, high-end entrees and even a raw bar. Today, visitors dig into dishes such as grilled octopus with seasonal berries and cioppino loaded with dungeness crab, clams, mussels, scallops, and white fish. The restaurant is typically open for both lunch and dinner, and features a full bar offering liquor, beer wine, and cocktails.
