Days 1–4
The tour kicks off in Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu. After a city tour on day 2, you’ll board a twin-engine plane for the flight to Lukla on day 3. Along the way, take in breathtaking views of the towering Himalayas. From Lukla, you’ll trek to Phakding to spend the night.
Day 4 begins with an exhilarating hike to Namche, a prosperous village in the Khumbu Valley. Here, you can visit an authentic teahouse or stock up on handcrafted items and gear for the rest of the hike.
Days 5–6
After taking 1 day off to recharge, the group heads to Tengboche Monastery, where you can get a panoramic look at Mount Everest and its equally imposing neighbors.
Days 7–9
En route to the village of Dingboche, the landscape is dominated by deep green fields where wild yak sometimes graze. A day trip on day 8 leads to the Chhukung Valley; there travelers will have unparalleled views of Lhotse, the world’s fourth-tallest mountain.
As the hike continues toward Lobuche on day 9, the verdant hillside gives way to rugged trails alongside the enormous Khumbu glacier. Eventually you’ll reach the village of Gorak Shep, where you can refuel and acclimate yourself to the altitude.
Days 10–12
After another day of journeying, the tour arrives at Everest base camp at the foot of the mountain. After taking a while to soak it all in, you’ll begin the descent, returning to Gorak Shep. On day 11 the hike continues up to the summit of Kala Pattar and on to the village of Pheriche. You’ll reach Khumjung, near the base of Khumbila Mountain, on day 12. There, a cave houses what is rumored to be a yeti’s skull.
Days 13–17
The trek takes hikers to Monjo on day 13 and wraps up in Lukla on day 14 before a brief flight back to Kathmandu on day 15. You’ll have 1 day to explore Kathmandu on your own and depart on day 17.
