- The film: The 2008 cult musical horror film that envisions a not-so-distant future where humans are stricken by organ failure and forced to turn to a powerful biotech company for transplants. When patients fail to make payment, Repo Men are sent to recover the organs through blood-splattering and messy means.
- The creators: Repo! The Genetic Opera is a joint collaboration between director Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II-V) and writers Darren Smith and Terrance Zdunich, the minds behind the 2002 musical of the same name.
- The shadow cast: As the film plays on the screen, performers on stage re-enact and interpret scenes in front of the audience, creating a live-action loop that enhances the film’s biopunk atmosphere with elaborate costumes and plenty of audience interaction.
