Music of the Beatles: Classical Mystery Tour
More than 50 years after the Beatles first arrived in America, the faux Fab Four known as Classical Mystery Tour joins forces with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra for a tribute like no other. Pops conductor David Torns conducts the mop-topped quartet and the orchestra as they play about 30 classic Beatles tunes, spanning from the early years to the solo days. Audiences might experience “Penny Lane” with a live trumpet section, a symphonic rendition of “I Am the Walrus,” or a stripped-down cover of “Yesterday” that reveals even more melancholy with just an acoustic guitar and a string quartet.

About Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra
The Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra began when four women started playing string quartets at each other’s homes. After more than 62 years and four chimneys clogged with quarter notes, their hobby has grown into a nationally recognized musical powerhouse. On top of producing nine Masterworks concerts and three chamber concerts a year, the BRSO brings in guest musicians every season for its Great Performers in Concert series. Each one-night-only event sees the ensemble collaborating with a different heavy hitter, from Yo-Yo Ma to Natalie Cole.
