What You’ll Do

The sun glints off the surface of a koi pond, soft music underscores the chirping of birds, and the smell of brown-sugared bacon catches on the breeze. Brunch arguably holds the title of the most indulgent of meals—but when served in Chef Janet Kelleher’s tranquil private garden, it’s closer to a vacation. As you lounge around the secluded sanctuary, you’ll sip on refreshing beverages, snack on hors d’oeuvres, and dine alfresco (weather permitting) before or after a relaxing dip in a 100-jet hot tub.

  • Spa-Like Atmosphere On arrival, you can change into bathing attire and freshen up in a private changing room and bathroom. Guests should bring their own bathing attire and towels.

  • Cocktails, Hors d’Oeuvres, and Gourmet Dishes While lounging in Chef Janet’s private garden, you can sip on blood-orange mimosas and nibble on freshly baked muffins before choosing a gourmet entree, such as the banana walnut pancakes with maple cinnamon brown butter and Vermont syrup or the baked farm fresh eggs in pastry with homemade mozzarella, basil pesto, and grape tomatoes.

  • 100-Jet Emerald Spa Hot Tub You can visit the garden’s soothing, jacuzzi-style hot tub before or after your meal; guests who visit the hot tub before the main course will be served cocktails and appetizers as they relax in the hot, bubbly water

After sharpening her cooking skills at the Institute of Culinary Education and working as an intern at the Peninsula Hotel, Chef Janet Kelleher established her own catering company in 1999. In addition to operating Spicy Rose Catering and a quarterly supper club, she continues to build an impressive resume that includes multiple awards and published recognition. She won the People’s Choice Award at the 2009 Staten Island Food & Wine Festival, and was also featured in Staten Island Advance’s Cook Book Contest on two separate occasions.
