About Lettie G. Howard

It's been a long journey for Lettie G. Howard. Christened in 1893, her oak timber frame sailed along the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts serving as a fishing vessel. When her fishing days came to an end she arrived at the South Street Seaport Museum in 1968, and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1989. The Erie Maritime Museum is proud to welcome her to the Great Lakes as part of a programmatic collaboration with the South Street Seaport Museum.
