Aida Rodriguez is many things: an alto singer, a salsa dancer, an actress, and even an event host. Perhaps most importantly, though, she’s a single mother of two. And perhaps most obviously, she’s a comedian.
The minute Rodriguez opens her mouth it becomes obvious that her in-your-face, logically warped, unabashedly raw views on parenting and family would create plenty of material for the stage. And, in fact, they’ve created so much material that she’s been featured on Nickelodeon’s Mom’s Night Out, NuVo TV’s Stand Up and Deliver, and several USO tours. Most recently, though, she was a finalist on season eight of NBC’s Last Comic Standing, where she inspired Keenan Ivory Wayans to say that she’s “like a dose of truth serum.”
