What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition? The Global Language Network (GLN) is a DC-based 501(C)3 not-for-profit organization whose mission is to use language as a tool to help fix our world. GLN is a community where people learn, share, and connect. We offer affordable language classes in approximately 50 languages, using a communicative approach that builds our learners’ communication skills in an interactive and enjoyable environment.

Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring? We provide everything that the students need to succeed. All they need to bring is a willingness to learn.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business? In 2005, Andrew Brown founded The Global Language Network to engage the community, share his passion for languages with others, and address the growing need for accessible, affordable language education.

What do you love most about your job? The community of fellow teachers and students, everyone is great. I have met so many fun, interesting people passionate about different cultures–it really motivates me to learn more!
