Upcoming films include Space Junk 3D, as well as showings of two documentaries that delve fearlessly into extreme environments. In To The Arctic, Meryl Streep narrates and Paul McCartney orchestrates as a polar bear and her 7-month-old cubs navigate the frigid wilderness. Bear, walrus, and caribou alike face the effects of human activity as relentless meltwater caused by rising temperatures renders their homes even less hospitable, but hope survives no matter the odds. Tornado Alley 3D follows adventurer-scientist Sean Casey (from Storm Chasers on the Discovery Channel) as he attempts to discern the elusive origins of the planet’s most extreme weather phenomena. Driving armored, all-terrain laboratories and grounded by the down-to-earth narration of Bill Paxton, Casey risks all to obtain never-before-captured footage from inside the storm.<p>

IMAX Theater

Housed inside the Indiana State Museum, the six-story IMAX screen transports audiences to worlds they may have only imagined—shrinking them to insect size or inviting them along on migratory birds’ annual sojourn. Besides panoramic, nationally recognized documentaries, the theater screens films of local significance, the occasional art house film, and the projectionists’ vacation slideshows.

This was the best idea we had to do in Indianapolis all summer. We seen born to be wild and the kids loved it. It was really hard to keep yourself from reaching out to touch those precious baby animals.
