The life of a Los Angeles corporate executive didn't suit Maja Kermath, so she decided to pursue a more personally fulfilling path by moving to Austin and co-founding Kor180. The fitness studio fosters a community-minded spirit that encourages members to collectively inspire, empower, and challenge one other. Trainers help by offering professional guidance while leading group classes intended to provide full-body workouts.
Kermath focused her studio on two types of workouts: Pilates and indoor cycling. The studio was mentioned in Austin Monthly's Best of the City 2013 issue as a standout Pilates studio, and Kermath's unique perspective and passion earned her a spot near the top for both Best Pilates Instructor and Best Indoor Cycling Instructor 2013 in Austin Fit Magazine. During classes, Pilates-inspired exercises strengthen and lengthen muscles and pulsating music accompanies indoor-cycling workouts as ryders simulate cycling up a mountain or imagine that it's just a very reasonable hill.
