Austin Yoga Guide

It’s a bit of a stereotype that Austinites are pretty laid back to begin with, but truth be told, even some of them can use a little bit of relaxation and mind-clearing every now and then. If the excitement and/or stress of living in one of the coolest cities in the U.S. gets to be a bit much, take a mind-break at one of the many top Austin yoga studios. Austin is known for harmony, musical harmony that is. But sometimes, mental harmony is just as important. If there’s a desire to get the body and mind in tune, Austin Yoga, located in the Lamar Shopping Center, might be the stop to make. The décor may be sparse, but that’s all the more essential to finding inner peace through the Iyengar yoga in which the studio specializes. Elsewhere around town, Yoga Yoga is an Austin yoga studio so nice they named it twice. But what’s really nice about it is that they have five locations, making it easy to find tranquility no matter where one is located. Also boasting multiple facilities is Black Swan Yoga, which is a donation-based yoga studio located in the downtown areas and on Westgate Boulevard, which conducts a variety of yoga classes in Austin. Yoga works better with the right material and Austin boasts some of the top yoga supply stores not only in the city but the nation. The Eastside Yoga store on 11th Street not only has classes on the premise but sells top quality yoga material including yoga mats, clothing, and meditation cushions. Meanwhile, the aforementioned Yoga Yoga also sells yoga clothing and equipment to make the practice of yoga a complete experience. Yoga studios in Austin are great ways to recharge one’s batteries for another round of the fun and excitement of Texas’ hippest city.

3-Month Unlimited Online Yoga by The Yoga Collective
THIS IS THE BEST ONLINE YOGA EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. After trying what felt like every platform out there, I found this one on Groupon. I’ll admit I was skeptical at first (sometimes Groupon deals can be a little… sneaky), but I’m so glad I took the chance because I LOVE this program. I absolutely love yoga, and a few months ago I decided to start working toward my teaching certification. Because my schedule is packed with university and family obligations—and there aren’t many studios where I live—most of my learning has to happen online. I’m a practical, to-the-point person and don’t need anyone to hold my hand through a membership. This app gave me exactly what I needed. The classes are thoughtful, efficient, and easy to follow—perfect for someone who just wants to get in, learn, and practice.
