About Mr. Gyros
Does the gyro deserve a spot in the sandwich pantheon? It would certainly seem so, thanks to its delicious combination of soft yet structurally sound pita; moist, fresh-off-the-spit lamb; crunchy, refreshing veggies; and piquant tzatziki. At Mr. Gyros, you can get this classic Greek-American version, as well as gyros made with marinated chicken, pork, or steak. (There's even a Pittsburgh-inspired Zeus gyro layered with coleslaw and thick-cut french fries.) Purely American menu items range from wings—available doused in 13 different sauces—and burgers like the Western, topped with barbecue sauce and crispy onion rings. Vegetarians, meanwhile, are satisfied by stuffed grape leaves, falafel, and spanakopita.
