- $49 for Mud Challenger entry for one on Saturday, March 29 (up to $100 value)
Men and women of all skill levels navigate a 4- to 8-mile course, tackling a variety of Navy Seal– and Black Ops–designed obstacles such as mud pits, ice tanks, and fire jumps. The obstacles and course layout are kept secret, leaving it up to the runners to discover for themselves what lies ahead. Upon completion, runners take home an official event T-shirt, a finish-line medal, a number bib, and complimentary mud stains. They also gain entry to an after party enlivened by live music and complimentary beer.
The run itself takes approximately two hours to complete, with waves of participants launching every half hour between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Proceeds from all events benefit Mud Challenger Positive Impact causes, including GreenSneakers, among others. Parking will be available on site for $20 per car.
Facing the unknown can be as scary as it is invigorating. The course organizers at Mud Challenger pepper their 3- to 6-mile courses with a devious array of obstacles, many of which remain unknown to racers until they encounter them live in the mud-filled field of play. To this end, the only real guarantee at any given Mud Challenger is that participants will get a little muddy, and get as rowdy as they please at a post-race party complete with food, beer, music, and the chance to make many, many mud angels.
