A Chat with Plant a Seed Music School
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Teaching from home, I offer a more personal and flexible experience than lesson factories in music shops or with storefronts. At home I have my studio with better equipment, excellent recording capability, an amazing bookshelf, and a comfortable environment. See my website.
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
Drum set, piano, keyboards, and guitar and bass amplifiers are on site. Students playing instruments other than drum set and piano will be expected to bring their own instruments. Sheet music and other instructional materials will be recommended based on student level and area of interest.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I began teaching music through helping the musicians I was performing with to improve on their instruments. In essence, fellow performers sometimes became my students. Now the process has reversed. If all goes as well as possible, my students become fellow performers! The business started itself.
What do you love most about your job?
Sharing one of the most sublime forms of human communication ever invented is what I love most about teaching music. Music also grows patience, intelligence, and confidence, and I have seen the study of music have positive echoes in people’s lives as a whole, which I find very rewarding.
“Excellent and definitely a greatly qualified guitar teacher. A real nice personality and engages his student with great skill.”
