A Chat with Postmodern Foods Georgetown
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition? All organic, vegan, GF specialty items you can't find anywhere else in the world. Health-supportive ingredients, seasonal recipes, mostly raw prepared, and unique chef-made meals in a chic environment.
Of the products you sell, which are your favorites? Raw greens celery and cuke juice, turmeric juice, blueberry chia smoothie, massaged kale salad, fennel pear salad, pad thai with almond sauce, pea soup (concentrate), and raw "cheese"cake.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business? Too stressed, too busy from every day life, owner Denise Hicks found herself deathly ill and aging too quickly at 29. She left her corporate job, moved to NY to attend health-supportive culinary school (NGI), and started Postmodern Foods in DC (her hometown) shortly thereafter.
What do you love most about your job? Making beautiful food that feeds people's bodies and souls, seeing families thrive on our daily staple foods, and constantly creating new menu items with our talented and committed kitchen staff.
