Studio owner Jenny Alterman believes that the human body is intended to be in motion. This is because movement-based exercises empower students by strengthening the connection between the body and the mind while allowing the muscle groups and organ systems to work together and restore harmonious function and balance. So in addition to improving students’ strength and flexibility, the center’s classes emphasize yoga as a system of healing that can ease chronic pains. And to ensure that each student is fully benefitting from the practice, the instructors cap attendance at 25 for each session so that everyone can receive personalized guidance.
The studio’s schedule fully embraces the scope of movement-based exercise. Yoga sessions include everything from physically engaging styles that introduce dynamically flowing asana sequences in a heated practice space to introspective sessions that use prop-assisted stretches and meditation to foster a sense of inner calm. To round out the schedule, instructors also lead mat Pilates, tai chi, and Zumba sessions throughout the week.
