About A Chat with Theatre of Gadsden
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
This 5k supports the Theatre of Gadsden, which is a historical venue located deep in the city. This is the only event of its kind in the region, and is a great way to both support the arts and have some Halloween fun. This event happens at twilight, and we highly encourage running in costume!
What is the experience customers can expect?
Runners wind their way through the streets of the old part of town, creating a perfectly creepy venue for our lurking zombies. Each runner starts with three health flags, with the goal to make it back alive. You wind up the after party, which is fully catered and features a classic horror movie.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
We began this run as a fundraiser to benefit the theatre, and the actual theme was born due to a production of Young Frankenstein. The creators loved the idea of a zombie chase, but as there were non within reasonable driving distance, we decided to bring one to us!
What do you love most about your job?
We consider the arts such an important part of life, both for adults and child education. We all have a passion for putting on quality productions, working within the community, and being able to provide experiences for those who would never receive these opportunities otherwise.
