Certified trainers and coaches Chris Lewis and Mike Alexander of Summerlin CrossFit like to mix up their workout routines. They're passionately driven to help their students lead healthier lifestyles, and work toward that goal by developing a regimen of workouts that change daily. On any given day, they might push participants to lift weights, toss medicine balls back and forth, or conquer exercises inspired by gymnastics or track-and-field routines. They modify the workouts to be challenging yet achievable for exercisers of all ability levels, making CrossFit ideal for those committed to getting in shape for the first time and elite athletes alike. To help new CrossFitters acclimate to the workouts' functional movements and basic exercises, Chris and Mike coach them through an introductory series of On-Ramp classes, after which they can safely join regular sessions already knowing the top-secret handshakes.
