The Granary Restaurant
Dine at The Granary Restaurant, and you'll get a dose of history to boot—the building's story dates back to the 19th century. In 1812, Fort Duffy was built to help defend the country against the British, who, a year later, burnt it down along with the town. A few years after that, The Granary was born; earliest records state it was used to store corn and grain in 1876. In the 1940s, the building was eventually re-imagined as a restaurant, only to be destroyed by fire once again in 1985.
Today, The Granary Restaurant may only retain the hand-hewn beams of the old building, but it still offers the same great view of the scenic Sassafras River. The waterfront restaurant's menu is seafood heavy with options such as crab nachos, chili-rubbed fish tacos, and Fat Tire–battered fish and chips. Chefs also whip up beef burgers, bacon mac and cheese, and hearty harvest salads. Weekly deals include Taco Tuesdays and a happy hour Monday–Friday.
