About The Maker's Space
A Chat with The Maker's Space
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition? Our business is focused around a "maker" community. We have a large fully equipped wood shop that you can use as a member or a resident. We also offer woodworking courses that allow people with less experience a great opportunity to learn about woodwork while making something unique for their home. We also have other artist and artisan studios available for rent.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business? The Maker's Space is a family owned business. The idea of a space where people could come to learn, create, perfect, or indulge in their maker craft has long been on our minds. We started The Maker's Space because we believe people desire to make things with their own two hands. It is an extremely liberating and exciting experience to learn that you can make amazing things and that is what we would like to foster here at The Maker's Space.
What do you love most about your job? I love watching people work through an obstacle as they make something new that might be out of their experience level. Being able to help someone achieve their goal in making is very satisfying and it can also encourage great partnerships in our growing community.
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer? Customers are always so surprised at how nice their piece of woodwork turned out. People walk away with a product that they are proud of. This gives them confidence moving forward to take other courses or try more woodworking on their own accord.
