Wake Forest University Soccer Camps

Paul "Bear" Bryant and Alabama football. Mike Krzyzewski and Duke men's basketball. Pat Summitt and Tennessee women's basketball. Some college sports programs are inexorably linked with their most famous head coach. And Tony da Luz, of Wake Forest women's soccer, also belongs on that list.

Da Luz invites youth players to come down from the stands and onto the field for hands-on guidance. Check out why young players might enroll in Wake Forest University Soccer Camps:

The Coaches

Da Luz has coached the Demon Deacons for 18 of the program's 21 seasons, leading the team to the NCAA Tournament in all but two of those years. They even won their 2010 conference tournament and made it to the College Cup championship in 2011. He leads youth soccer camps alongside his assistant coaches—both former college goalkeepers.

The Training

Camps geared toward high-school girls feature agility training, extensive technical skills work, and 11v11 games. For middle-school girls, the coaches lead multiple intense training sessions to prepare them for more advanced competition. Kickin' Kids, for boys and girls ages 6–9, fosters a love of the game by introducing them to ball-control skills and other soccer fundamentals.

The Facility

Sessions unfold at Spry Soccer Complex, home to a 3,000-seat stadium and three fully lit playing fields with recently renovated natural-grass surfaces. The stadium has hosted ACC Tournaments and a Major League Soccer exhibition game.
