GREAT LOCATION & STAY This is not your average Marriott. The quaint red brick buildings and elegant inside furnishing provide perfect atmosphere for this historic inn. Located near the Ford Museum, Greenfield Village and the Ford plant you are convenient to all. Nice king size bed, large tv and tub/shower combo -- bed was very comfortable. Hallways were quiet-- elevators were a little slow so if you are on second floor it is only a slight set of stairs (easy).

Do not book Room 257! We reserved a king bed room directly with the Inn. We didn't prepay, but we arrived at about noon. They happily checked us in early and gave us the key. As soon as we opened the door to this tiny room with a tiny bed (full size, not even queen), we called the front desk and were told all the king rooms were taken for both of our nights. They insisted it was a queen bed. They had failed to apologize or tell us any of this when we checked in. They offered us extra Marriott Bonvoy points, which was a nice gesture but not enough to make up for 2 sleepless nights. We went to the desk, and this time, they gave us our second night free. BUT we would've gladly paid for the entire stay in a king room. By the way, we measured the bed before we checked out, and it was 54" wide , which is the size of a full mattress. (A queen is 60" and that 6" makes a big difference for 2 adults). The mattress was narrower than the bedframe, which stuck out and cut my husband's leg. It also sunk in the middle. In addition, the sink was a child's size sink -- it came up to mid thigh on me, and I'm 5'5" with normal length legs. The bathroom was tiny, as was our room, which seemed more like a room in NYC or Europe. The duvet cover was one-sided with an overlap just at the top, so the underside was the bare comforter -- didn't feel sanitary. There was no luggage rack in the room, and when the front desk brought one up, there was barely anywhere to put it. There was one small uncomfortable sitting chair and a desk chair. This was an adjoining room, and we decided it was the children's room with the parents' room next door. Sure enough, when the maids cleaned the room next door, it was a normal sized-hotel room with a king bed. Oh, and our coffee maker was broken, and there was no coffee in the lobby. Due to COVID and lack of staff, the dining room wasn't open on the first morning (a Thursday) but was open on Friday. Friday breakfast was a really good, hot bufffet, but the serving utensils were shared, which didn't seem right, even when COVID numbers in Michigan were low. The dining room wasn't open at all at night, though the bar had good food and good service. This is a pretty property with a pretty lobby, but the rooms sadly need updating. And you'll be very sorry if you end up in Room 257 unless you're a kid. I'm not one to write bad reviews unless something is really bad. I had to write this to warn others!

Elegant old hotel The location to the Henry Ford Museum is a major selling point. The grounds are lovely. The staff was as accommodating as possible. They do not have a restaurant opening before 5. Big problem if you were expecting to have lunch. No shuttle service . Understaffed due to Covid. No restaurants nearby. One of the staff drove me to a restaurant so I could pick up food. Very kind. Executive lounge not opened due to understaffing. Not a great time to stay here. They are just starting to get back on their feet. Not their fault .

Amazing Visit! The hotel and grounds are amazing! This is a historic property so if your expecting modern you won’t get that. The lobby is amazing with open spaces and plenty of seating with beautiful chandeliers and historic pictures of the Ford Family. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. I had a corner room with plenty of space to work. Staff is friendly and restaurant food and bar was excellent. The hotel offers a breakfast buffet and then dinner opens at 5pm. If you don’t want to eat at the hotel there are restaurants close by for a quick Lyft ride. Try the garage restaurant. My only comment to the hotel would be to offer more drink and food choices in the hotel convenience area so that there are options.

A great resort experience except for the ac availability Staff and facility were wonderful. The AC in the rooms of this historic building are a challenge. We still had a great time on check in, the size of the room, staff and food were 5 star. I highly recommend the weekend breakfast buffet at the Edison. Also the Ten Eyck Tavern is the only food available in the evening on a weekend. The staff there do an excellent job seeking to do the best in a smaller place for the volume of customers. We had to stay away from our room until late in the evening as the ac didn't work in 90 degree summer days. Thanks to the staff who brought a fan.
