Not too bad This was a decent hotel in a pretty good & safe location. It’s an older hotel, but it was clean. Our curtains were ripped and one of the lights didn’t work. These are easily fixable, so I’m not sure why they aren’t. The pool and spa area was nice, and our kids had fun playing. Breakfast was mediocre. Waffles, biscuits and gravy, cereal, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and toast, muffins, and biscuits were provided. They also had milk, oj, coffee, and water. It was ok. The workers were all very kind and accommodating. The hotel was quiet. Despite needing a few updates, it wasn’t a bad place to stay.

Dated, nothing works because.. wait a minute... its dated!! Where's the 0 star button? Stayed here for three nights with my family (two kids ages 5 and 3) Note: This review has NOTHING against the employees. This is directed towards the management, owner, and the brand! Day 1 - Checked in at about 3pm. Was assigned a room. Room was decent. However, the TV did not work. Kids were not happy after the long drive from Ontario, Canda. Went to the front desk right away and reported the issue. Outcome: TV issue was not rectified. No resolution or options given by anyone. Day 2: TV still broken. Went to the front desk and reported it again. Was given the classic "We will report the issue".. AGAIN! Outcome: TV was still broken for the whole day. Guy comes to "Fix" the issue in the evening. Reboots the set top box. TV works for 5 mins.. yep, guy is gone and the darn thing is broken AGAIN! Reported the issue and was offered to move to another room. Yep! we moved to another room with two little kids in tow and all the stuff that night.. Day 3: Pool closed day and Room Access card blocked Day! Yayy! was told that the chemical composition of the water was off and so had to be closed the whole day! Amazing. Who knew it would take a whole day to get the water chemicals issue taken care of? We come back after a full day of activities with the kids and can't open the room with the key cards. I'm carrying one child that is fast asleep. Had to wait all that while so my wife could get this issue rectified at the front desk. Outcome: Darn pool was closed all day! Summary: We paid full price to stay at this place. This is not worth $150 a night. Everything is dated, peeling off and reeks of smoke in the hallways. This place pretty much is there for the management to make money and not for that customer experience you may be looking for. The Choice brand should be ashamed of themselves to have this place open at this price. Save your money and stay elsewhere even if it is a few miles away. Choice brand - Rectify this issue!

Twilight Zone I checked into this nightmare on the spur of the moment, due to not wanting to drive in deer country at night. The girl at the front desk was friendly, but really out of it. Drugs or tired, I don’t know. Thinking drugs because of what happened. Anyway, I’ll try and condense this, because there’s a lot. Checking in there was a conversation about my last name and first name and city where I’m from. So get done with that process and it takes her an actual minute or more to get the key cards in the little envelope. She told me room 217. Didn’t notice until I was on my way to the room that the envelope had 214 on it. Tried 214. Didn’t work. Tried 217. It worked. Went in, ate food I had brought from home, took everything but a water bottle with me, and left for a concert in Grand Rapids. The concert’s over, I drive back, head up to my room and try the keycard. Flashing red AND green but doesn’t work. As I’m trying I hear from the other side of the door- what are you doing? Ok, that’s freaky! I say something to the effect of this is my room. She says, and I quote “ not anymore” That would be even freakier! I go down to the front desk to get this straightened out. “Tired girl” isn’t there , so I ring the bell. She comes out from the back, and I tell her there’s someone in my room. She says to me - you’re not allowed here. You have to leave. And kept saying that with no explanation. You’re not registered here. You’re not allowed here and you have to leave. Said something about her manager. I said call your manager. Call the police!! She end up calling her manager. I called the police. Manager came, cop came. Finally got out a completely made up story about how I checked in the previous night under another name. The manager is struggling to get me another room in a hell hole that I don’t want to be at. But I’m exhausted and don’t feel like driving around Hudsonville at Midnight. The KICKER: The manager is looking on the computer and says I don’t have anyone in 217. This strung out girl has given my room to I don’t know who while I’m gone and is now trying to throw me out!! Huge mistake not asking the cop to go check out the room and see who IS in there. He probably should have thought of that on his own. But ABSOLUTELY NOBODY was trying to get to the bottom of this. When she printed out the receipt for my “second room” there was all my information from the original reservation- you know, the one that wasn’t in the system. On the second page she literally crossed out 217 and wrote 126 (the new room). I was registered at this hotel the entire time of course. To summarize: check in, go to room and eat, go to concert, have room taken over by someone, have staff try and throw me out. Dirty bathroom? Ratty carpeting? Smell of cigarettes? I’d take those any day!!! By the way - as an added bonus, the place is a DUMP!!! Other than that, highly recommend this fine establishment.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE I’m most ashamed that this hotel falls under the Choice Brand. For a Quality Inn there was 0 quality. Night 1… no hot water in the room, called the desk and one of the managers came up and told us it was “just an old building” offered for us to move rooms, but what good would that do if every room is on the same water? She promised to comp that night since we were staying for 2 nights. DO YOU THINK THAT HAPPENED!!! (NOPE). Decided to go to the hot tub, well… it was a cold tub! Strike 2!!!! Took a cold shower in the morning and went on about our day. Did a very long bike ride and boy would a “hot” shower or tub been nice. At check out, informed the guy at the desk about the comp promise and his response was priceless…some people just don’t know how to do their jobs…I’m not connected to this brand, I’m just here for the money.. this after I explained their connection to the Choice Hotel brand! Very disappointed. And to the managers of this place please spare me your cut and paste response! You should be ashamed of your hotel, and more importantly Choice Hotels needs to come in and ensure that the QUALITY INN name is removed from you!

Very poor We checked in at 3 as we were advised. We were told there were no clean towels in the room, but that they'd deliver them as soon as they were available. We had a wedding to go to so weren't in the room until later. We saw the laundry person working on laundry when we returned from the wedding so assumed we'd have some clean towels when we got into the room. Not at all. The only towel available was a dirty towel hanging on the bathroom door. So, obviously we didn't get a shower in the morning. The breakfast bar consisted of bread for toast and dry cereal. When I checked out they made all kinds of excuses with nary an apology. NEVER AGAIN!!!
