Kimpton Hotel Palomar Los Angeles Beverly Hills by IHG

A great place to stay with excellent amenities We stayed at the Kimpton Palomar for five days when we came here for a business/family trip. The hotel is pretty amazing because the $33 guest fee includes daily: $15 credit voucher towards self parking or food at the lobby or at the restaurant,digital press, reader, digital access to newspaper, and magazines, digital tablets that you can borrow, a daily free Lyft drop off within 2 miles radius of your hotel, complementary EV charging, a nightly 5 to 6 PM wine hour reception, a business center, a fitness center with peloton bikes, beach kits that you can borrow, as well as bikes. If you enjoy the happy hour, then you will definitely get your money’s worth here. The happy hour was very nice because every day they had a premade rum cocktail +2 types of wine as well as an appetizer free for guests. The eating area includes a video game Cabinet, a pool table, shuffleboard, as well as ski ball and darts! We barely had to leave the hotel to enjoy ourselves. The hotel is centrally located and very close to UCLA so you can use the free Lyft ride easily and go to Rodeo Drive, UCLA’s Westwood Village, as well as other places that are close by. Overall, we loved staying at this hotel and did not really use the pool even though it was very quaint and well appointed. The hotel is full of amenities and things to do as well as friendly staff for the most part. We did have a little bit of a snag when we checked in because the receptionist did not tell us anything about the hotel, including all of these amenities and did not give us the welcome sheet telling us what was available and what was not. However, after speaking to the concierge, everything was fixed and we had a wonderful stay for the week. I would highly recommend this for business people because it’s a great atmosphere to do work at the tables and lounge areas, and an awesome coffee bar in the morning that has hot and iced coffee. It’s also great for families because there are games for the kids, a pool, and the food is rather delicious. Finally I would probably return here because it was easy to get to, it was centrally located, and the staff were attentive.

Clean and beautiful hotel in safe Westwood/UCLA Beautiful hotel in a great location. It’s maybe three minutes straight down the road to Beverly Hills. This location is technically Westwood/UCLA but nothing is wrong with that! We walked to dinner one night- easy and safe. We did drive everywhere after that once we figured out nobody walks in LA. Clean and modern rooms! Fantastic desk staff! Will return!!

Not Beverly Hills & Poor Air Quality/Smells First of all, this hotel is not in Beverly Hills. Don’t expect it to be. False advertising in my opinion. Call it what it is: Westwood. Secondly, and more importantly, the hotel rooms smell horrible. They gave us a tour of five different rooms on different floors and they all smelled extremely bad. It seems like a combination of old carpet mixed with an ancient HVAC system. They try to pump in air freshener to cover up the smell, but that only makes it worse. I felt like I was going to have an asthma attack. The lobby looks inviting and updated. But the rooms are in poor shape and more importantly - the air is not clean or fresh. And don’t plan on mitigating with an open window as they don’t open. I honestly can’t figure out how this hotel is getting such good reviews. We had to get out of there as fast as possible. There’s no way I could’ve slept a night in that hotel. Kimpton should’ve made it up to us but drop the ball on that as well. Gives me little faith in staying in another Kimpton hotel in the future.

Decent stay but not my favorite Kimpton I love and trust the Kimpton brand… so it was a no brainer to book and pay a little more when my husband and I traveled to LA for a march madness game. Upon entry of the hotel, all things matched my expectations for a Kimpton. The room was nice but it felt like an upgraded by decor 3 star hotel. The room layout and set up was similar to a basic hotel room and didn’t have all the amenities in the room I am used to when staying at a Kimpton. NOTHING WAS WRONG or BAD. The room was just ok and not what I expected. The game room and bar were awesome and so fun to relax in after the game. We had some special perks through our travel agency. At first it wasn’t provided and checkout but when we informed the staff, they immediately took care of it! It was a wonderful stay overall- parking is $48!!! FYI

Great location Very good hotel in Beverly Hills centrally located. Easy self parking for a fee or Valet if you prefer. Check in went well l. We had an issue with our room but it was resolved Rapidly. Restaurant is quite good we had supper and breakfast Service quick and efficient. We ll use this property again if the need arises.
