Baby Shower Had my baby shower held here yesterday on one of the board rooms and it was lovely. My friends were able to decorate the room, even with help to hang decorations from staff (and his ladder :)). The afternoon tea was lovely and the staff were attentive and friendly. Would definitely come again to try out the spa facilities.

Poor food and poor crockery. We went for afternoon tea, very over priced , The cakes were not very special nothing like on the menu. The sandwiches very boring. The tea was served in canteen steel teaports , not pot like the photos. Afternoon tea for me would china cups and saucers, and lovely sandwiches and cakes. Very dissappointed as this was a birthday gift for my 87 year old mum. Shigley hall is a beautiful place and high end , not the afternoon tea. One good thing the staff were do lovely and helpful . Thats you got a four , but would say 2 for the food

Very mixed experience Visited for a spa afternoon package with 2 friends. Included was a scrub/ facial treatment, spa use, and a 'cream tea'. Positives: In a stunning location, the views and grounds are beautiful. I had a treatment with Kate who was brilliant and provided a lovely relaxing experience. The outside infinity pool is lovely, we spent all our time there. Issues: The inside pool area needs updating. It is inside an old church which must present some challenges, but it needs better lighting and weirdly there is fake grass in one area which did not look clean. The sauna is very small. There are some cleanliness issues - clumps of hair and dirt in the shower by the pool; a wet robe left on the changing room bench was still there 4 hours later. The 'cream tea' in the spa cafe was terrible - one small scone which I'm pretty sure was shop bought and I think microwaved warm, a small plastic packet of jam and a lump of cream on the side of the plate. Not very attentive staff in the cafe. They use disposable plastic cups for water and people were constantly coming up for a quick drink and throwing them away - buy paper cups! We had an afternoon weekday package and it was fairly quiet. We had some food in the hotel bar afterwards (which was ok), when we left at about 7pm the infinity pool was rammed with people, I would not want to be there then

Very relaxing and lovely setting This was a 50th birthday present from my friend. Had a lovely afternoon tea, followed by a facial and back massage by Kate, who was lovely. Made me feel very relaxed. Then the spa for the evening. Highly recommend going. I’ll definitely be going again
