Still haven’t returned our deposit - 3 months later! Nice hotel, but insisted on taking a hefty deposit on arrival. On check out we were told that it could NOT be taken off the balance payment, but as was paid on a foreign credit card it would be returned to our card within 30 days. Despite chasing, still no money received. Horrendous. Chose another hotel.

A San Francisco icon gloriously reborn. We have made annual trips to San Francisco and The Clift has become our favorite hotel in the city by the bay. It was recently completely renovated and now has a crisp, modern urban vibe yet the historic Redwood Room offers a classic sophisticated ambiance with skilled and sociable mixologist, live jazz or a DJ some nights. The Front Desk staff were so welcoming and accommodating, and the housekeeping service impeccable. Simply amazing all around! Can' wait to return.

Central, Comfortable and Iconic What a fabulous stay at The Clift! The room was comfortable, cozy, quiet and spotless! Room to spread out and not "work from the bed" the desk and seating area gave me space to work and relax. The team was excellent, accommodating and friendly. Food was delicious at our event and breakfast and coffee in the morning were exactly what was needed to start my day. The history of this building is well maintained and a fun story to hear!

Excellent Hotel! I stayed there for a business conference in September and was very impressed by the service, accommodations, decor and food & beverage quality. Top notch - a must when staying in San Francisco. I highly recommend for business & leisure travelers.

Excellent Hotel! The entire team at the The Clift is awesome! From the moment I arrived until the day I left everyone was warm, genuine and caring. The rooms are beautiful, the food delicious and the Redwood Room is perfect!
