Not the resort it used to be The reputation of this resort is dated. I had wanted to stay here for decades. While there, the pool was so crowded, we had nowhere else to sit but in front of the pool/spa that were being renovated. Trying to make the best of it, we ordered a beer and cocktail for which we paid $32! Then, we hiked a short trail and encountered briars and thistle bushes covering the trail and several downed eucalyptus trees. The downed and dry eucalyptus trees pose a fire hazard.

Disappointing Stay at the Chaminade Our highly anticipated visit to The Chaminade was unfortunately met with one significant disappointment after another, making it a stay we will not repeat. Upon arrival at 4:10 PM, our room was not ready. We were told it would be ready "within an hour," which was not only inconvenient but also concerning, as it implied a rushed and inadequate cleaning process (less than an hour to fully turn over a room). The evening's scheduled activities were equally frustrating. The advertised family movie, "Turning Red," started at least 30 minutes late and was replaced by "50 First Dates," which was entirely inappropriate for our 5 and 9-year-old children. None of the other advertised activities – face painting, ice cream by the pool, or patron tasting – actually took place. A second poolside movie started an hour late, running well past our kids' bedtime. Beyond the activity failures, the overall service and room quality were poor. Staff consistently seemed unprepared, unable to answer basic questions without consulting others, which felt unprofessional. Our room itself was dirty, aligning with our earlier concerns about the cleaning standards. Most disruptive was the constant, loud squeaking from the floorboards upstairs, waking our entire family multiple times throughout the night. Given these numerous issues with readiness, advertised amenities, service, and room comfort/cleanliness, we will definitely not be staying at The Chaminade again.

Disappointed!!! I have been visiting the Chaminade for years but this was the 1st time staying there. The room was the furthest away possible from the reception area ( room 1024) and next to a noisy office. 2 flights of stairs and no elevator. The room itself was very spacious and we'll equipped. The phone didn't work and when we tried to contact the front desk using our phones no - one ever picked up. I attend a party at the View which ended at 10:30pm. I asked about a lift back to my far away room and was told there wasn't one. A long walk back in the dark. Overall very dissatisfied with the service especially for the price we paid for the room. The valet service was excellent though!

Nice visit The location and amenities were very nice, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Wonderful views and food/drinks at the restaurant. Great walking trails on the site. We didn't have hot water the first day of the visit but the staff quickly fixed the problem. The lighting in Building 1000 is really harsh.

Nice ambiance but management seems lacking Doesn’t seem like things are being well managed around here. Despite multiple things listed in their itinerary of events for the memorial weekend, there’s no face painting, no patron tastings, the wrong movie being played (and totally inappropriate substitution for the multiple kids waiting for Turning Red). Also, they don’t apparently like to wash their towels before commissioning them for use. Found inspection stickers still attached on all the bath and pool towels and they just left white lint EVERYWHERE and in our hair and skin and clothes. I’m pretty sure there are chemicals still on the towels from production that I’m wiping all over our bodies.
