What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
At My Sanctuary Massage you can choose from Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Pregnancy massage, or Hot Stone massage. For best results, I will customize your session mixing and matching a number of different techniques that will best address your concerns and preferences. As a therapist, I combine a nurturing calming presence with a good understanding of your body and the best ways to achieve the goals you are looking for like pain relief and relaxation.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I have been a helping professional since 2005 when I became a Registered Nurse. Although massage therapy is different from nursing, the intention is the same: to help others to improve their health and wellbeing. As a licensed massage therapist, I am able to see positive results in people on an everyday basis; less pain, improved posture, freer movement, and decreased tension. It is so rewarding for me. I am excited and honored to be a part of this profession!
What do you love most about your job?
As I said above, the rewards of being a massage therapist are numerous-helping people to feel better and freer in their own bodies is amazing! I feel even more satisfied knowing that massage is a natural approach that does not require medications or doctor visits. It is great that people can extend the benefits of massage with self-care measures like stretching, adequate rest, and being more aware of their posture.
What is the best reaction you’ve ever gotten from a customer?
“This was one of the best massages that I’ve ever had. She was so tuned into my problem areas and seemed familiar with the science of the body. I liked how she used multiple methods to address my pain areas.”

As someone who has always been in touch with the intangible elements of health, Tara Cornish is well suited to a career in reflexology and energy. She brings that gestalt mindset to bear when kneading pressure points on the hands and feet in an effort to address depression and anxiety or bolster the function of individual organs. Training in reiki, a form of gentle-touch therapy, prepares her to combat a range of maladies by channeling energy said by practitioners to run through the body and universe. Tara also serves as a doula, or labor helper, to expectant mothers, coaching them through the birthing process and explaining why every baby has to be named Cranston.
The branches of the baobab tree zigzag into the African sky like roots, giving the tree its distinctive upside-down shape and giving Alchemy Wellness Studio the fruits that infuse one of its signature facials. The studio’s experienced aestheticians meld natural ingredients such as baobab fruit and kigelia—an African flowering plant and natural astringent—into their ameliorating spa treatments, reflecting their overarching focus on holistic, organic care. This goal carries over onto the menu of services—which includes aromatherapy, waxing treatments, and mani-pedis—as well as into the cups of fair-trade coffee clients sip as they shrug off the stressors of everyday life.
Certified by the National Certification Board of Massage Therapists and Bodyworkers, licensed massage therapist Christine soothes muscles by employing one of three massage modalities that help assuage aches and pains and diminish stress. Swedish massages use gentle pressure to dissolve muscular tension, and the Japanese touch therapy of reiki—a practice for which she holds the title of reiki master teacher—manipulates energy fields to activate the body’s self-healing mechanisms and combat chronic pain. Christine also shuttles ergonomic seating to and from client homes for chair massages, which can restore your body to a nubile state of relaxed joyousness unlike any since you got your braces removed.
