BOOK with AirBNB or Direct owners only! We booked our stay directly through the Hotel Manager Karel in December as this is our 3rd year & have never had a problem. We arrived our room and it was in the 5th building unit 5415 and it was NOT what we booked with the manager. I called the front desk and informed the receptionist that this is NOT the room we booked in December & she states that this is the best room in the hotel and that they assign rooms the day of check in. So needless to say I was very frustrated and asked for the room I purchased she states there are no rooms available for what I requested they are booked. So we had to keep the room and it was by far the WORST room I have stayed in Ocean Pointe. The next day the Hotel manger emails me and I quickly response , she still has not responded to my email to give me an answer or even offer an apology or credit me back money for the difference in cost of rooms. Room 5415 is dated the beds are uncomfortable, No Tv in spare bedroom, All TV were in Spanish so it was hard to navigate the basic cable they offered, the stools in the kitchen are so badly stained / dirty , stains splatters & holes on the walls, ceiling fans caked with dust. Showers had no water pressure so took forever to take a shower. No attention to detail at all in this room. They also opened a restaurant called Island grill for food, we ordered food from the location at the docks, and it was horrible food we had chicken, pizza and a salad everything tastes like its frozen and heated in a microwave. There are so many local restaurants that are much better and worth the money because they are expensive and include gratuity on very order its hidden so check your receipts. Very let down by the staff and the hotel in general. BOOK thru an owner / property management company on AirBNB you get to see the room and exactly how it is before booking. I will NEVER book thru hotel again for this reason and customer service has gone way downhill.

Renter beware The resort is a mixed bag. Good; Nice pool with small tiki grill that actually stayed open late, small pier next to beach area which had a good breeze in the evening. The room we had was clean and decently furnished. Good location in upper keys with some fun dining locations. Bad; Swimming area off of beach is loaded with limestone rocks and barnacles. The project looks a little dated from outside but somewhat typical for The Keys. A feral cat colony lives throughout the project so cat feces & urine were a common occurrence. We had a live rodent in room somewhere which came out at night and chewed through the bread and chip bags that were closed but on the counter the first night. Second night we put everything in fridge with the exception of two saltines in a plastic baggy. Crackers were eaten the second night, so some type of rodent was living in that room We called mgmt. after first night they said they would put in a maintenance ticket in. We stopped by mgmt. office, which is off property (inconvenient and sketchy for late night check in), to follow up later that day and were told there was no maintenance ticket in system. After second attempt maintenance showed up that afternoon with a can of Raid and appeared unaware that it was a rodent problem not bugs. He said they needed to call an exterminator to handle the issue. There was no offer to move us to a different room no contact from mgmt., nothing. We checked out following day. In my opinion it was a lousy response to the problem with zero follow up from management company. I'm sure the private owner of the condo unit wouldn't be happy with either the rodent or how the management responded to the issue. Won't be back.

Good for families We had an overall good time and the resort was what we expected. We rented a two bedrooms, two bathrooms unit 4212. The unit was nice and clean. The kitchen was very well stocked. It had pans and pots, knives, forks, spoons, coffee maker with coffee, bowls plates, mugs, cups, and wine glasses. It felt very new and there were extra towels in the bathrooms. The reason I rated it 4 and not 5 is because of two main reasons. 1) Check in is NOT onsite. It is in a totally separate location, about a 5 minutes drive from the resort. We were never informed until we got to the property. I would have expected that this information would’ve been provided in the confirmation email, so the guests wouldn’t have to be driving back-and-forth and while it’s not something horrible, it could be if you have small kids with you tired from a long trip. Another thing is the fact that check it is at 5 pm, versus 3 PM, like in most other hotels, so again inconvenient. 2) The beds were hard, I checked if it was only the king in the master, but the kids beds were hard as well… so was our friend’s staying at a different unit. I would recommend the resort investing in new mattresses, they were kind of uncomfortable. They do provide beach towels and two complimentary bottles of water. Dish soap, a sponge, and small size toiletries. I would definitely consider staying here again, and think this a good option for families. We were in town for an event so, we didn’t have time to visit the beach. The pool we saw, it looked nice and it has a bar with food available.

Amazing Views, but cleanliness is an issue Beautiful resort with amazing views. Large, comfortable rooms, but the appliances are outdated and in need of repair. The bathrooms and refrigerator were not at all clean, hair in both. Room supplies were scarce (dishes, blankets, pillows). However, great pool area, beautiful grounds, and a nice beach area. Comfortable environment, great for everyone, families and couples. Would definitely go again, but would request to be sure the room was clean and stocked.
