  • Kennesaw State University Athletics
Established in 1982, Kennesaw State's athletics program first competed in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. In the mid-90s, the Owls migrated to the NCAA, where they claimed 7 Division II championships in activities as diverse as men's basketball, cheerleading, and women's soccer. Just as a real owl hones its night vision until it stops stubbing its talons on branches, the school continued its ascent until it joined the Division I Atlantic Sun Conference, netting two national tournament appearances in women's soccer as well as championships in men's track and field and women's cross-country.

  • All2Fly Aviation
A key component of being a great teacher is being passionate about your subject—and at All2Fly Aviation, it's required. Cumulatively, the instructors have logged more than 40,000 hours of flight time. They bring this experience to each lesson, whether they're guiding a first-time aviator or an experienced pilot. They show novice flyers the ropes on discovery flights, elucidating operating the cockpit's controls, communicating with the tower, and navigating an airplane without making an Airplane! joke. Pilots then take the passenger seat as their student takes to the skies for the first time, going through takeoff, sky navigation, and landing. Meanwhile, seasoned pilots can go for their instrument ratings or even train to be instructors themselves. And those who own a plane can take their sky steed into the 30,000-foot facility for detailing, maintenance, and airbrush work on the exterior.
