  • Kissing Fish Nails
Though Kissing Fish Nails salon was recently opened in May 2013, owner Ann Fish is no newbie in the world of nailcare. The skilled technician boasts five-plus years of experience tending to clients’ extremities, which is apparent as she beautifies them with solar, no-chip gel, and acrylic nail services. Beyond offering purely cosmetic treatments, she promotes relaxation with hot-stone massage during the deluxe pedicure, and moisturizes hands with a hydrating treatment to remove calluses. She also offers facial waxing and makeup-application services, helping customers prep for special events.

  • SistaSista Nail Spa
As mothers, entrepreneurs, and self-proclaimed fashionistas, co-owners Shantell and Taffi understand the importance of taking time out to care for one's nails, hands, and feet. With that understanding they opened Sista Sista Nail Spa, where women of all trades can maintain the health and appearance of their extremities by having damaged acrylics repaired or getting help for conditions such as dehydrated skin, corns, and calluses, which can negatively affect one?s ability to create shadow puppets. During natural manicures and pedicures, the duo details cuticles, trims nails, and massages hands and feet before beautifying nails with a high-shine buff, a Gelish polish, or patterned Minx nails. Additionally, they can educate clients on how to improve the condition of their digits in between treatments.

  • Nevaeh Salon & Spa
Q&A with Jessyca Traylor, Stylist Tell us about your business. It is a small salon with a very relaxed and comfortable—but still professional—atmosphere. The interior of a business can affect how its customers feel. What kind of decor do you use to help make your clients feel pampered and at ease? We have a quiet, comfortable waiting area, and shampoo bowls that move to suit the clients in their most comfortable position while they're having their hair washed and scalp messaged. We keep plants and flowers around at all times. What steps do you take to make your clients feel at ease? I always consult with the client prior to any service. I want to make sure we are both on the same page and that they are happy when they leave. I also offer many beverage selections including wine, water, beer, coffee, and tea. And if the client is trying something different than what they are used to, I always remind them that if they don't like it we can always change it. Out of your entire repertoire, which is your favorite service to perform and why? I love to cut hair. It's just so intricate. And I love to cut the hair to show off the way it is colored. Having an awesome haircut can make anyone's day better.
